Faculty Directory

The Nativity School experience is characterized by personal attention. Small classes and a highly talented and dedicated faculty provide Nativity students with a student centered approach to teaching, providing a strong, specialized curriculum.
A multi-intelligence approach to learning provides the foundation for teaching and learning at Nativity. Our faculty use varied teaching strategies that recognize the many different learning styles and create a classroom environment that takes into consideration the unique ways in which students learn. Teachers encourage critical thinking to allow students to demonstrate expression of thought and knowledge through many different ways.
More than three-quarters of the faculty hold a graduate degree in education or their area of expertise in addition to their teaching credentials. The Nativity School teachers also consistently participate in continuous professional development. While grounded in years of experience, the faculty is up to date with teaching strategies and pedagogy that promote optimum student success.

Malcolm has been a proud member of the Nativity School Faculty since 2009. He is also Director of Coaching for the Rancho Santa Soccer Club and Boys Varsity Soccer coach at The Bishop's School in La Jolla.

As the Nativity P.E. Teacher for grades K-8 his classes are based on activity, purpose and enjoyment. His goal is to have intrinsically motivated students that are passionate about sports and constantly trying to improve their Personal Best.

Sport often mirrors society. thus, team work, respect for others and good sportsmanship are stressed at all times.

Individual skill development, small sided activities and full sided games are utilized to maximize each students potential. The P.E. program aims to promote and develop healthy attitudes towards personal well being that incorporate a balanced diet, exercise and lifetime recreational activities.

Malcolm passionately combines teaching skills with coaching strategies and huge doses of motivation to enable optimal development for each student.

Sports is in his family D.N.A. His father was a professional soccer player in England, his nephew currently plays professional rugby and Malcolm represented England at soccer at the Youth International level and attended S.D.S.U. on a soccer scholarship.

He is a huge advocate for physical fitness and all sports. He enjoys chess, reading and classical music.
