Schoolwide Learning Expectations

At The Nativity School our Schoolwide Learning Expectations guide us towards the goals we have for all of our students. Realizing that as students grow, change and develop in their emotional, spiritual, physical and academic lives we strive to help each reach full potential as a framework for establishing curriculum goals. Our Schoolwide Learning Expectations are an important part of our rich and challenging program.

The Nativity School “STARS”  student is a:

S teadfast Christian who:

A.  Demonstrates understanding of our Catholic faith and traditions

B.  Participates in the sacramental life of faith for the Catholic Church

C.  Lives the values of Jesus and is active in community service for social justice

D.  Demonstrates understanding of other religions and cultures

T hinker who:
A. Demonstrates a strong foundation in core subjects
B. Works independently with consistently good study skills
C. Works collaboratively to enhance problem solving skills
D. Uses knowledge and critical thinking in pursuit of continued learning
A ctive communicator who:
            A. Communicates and expresses emotion appropriately
            B. Listens attentively and responds respectfully
            C. Cooperates and collaborates with others
            D. Uses technology morally and appropriately
R esponsible citizen who:
            A. Accepts and respects authority
            B. Shows tolerance and respect to others in word and action
            C. Demonstrates care for the environment 
S trong person of character who:
A. Accepts and applies constructive criticism with self-confidence
B. Uses good judgment in decision-making
C. Demonstrates the value of “personal best” in self and others
