The Nativity School attracts bright, motivated and well-rounded students who are seeking a Catholic education and will benefit from a strong academic program. Admissions decisions are made without discrimination based on race, creed, color, national or ethnic origin and without regard to financial assistance. As part of the Diocese of San Diego and supported in part by The Church of the Nativity, the school gives initial consideration to children of parish members and then other Catholics. When admissions decisions are made between equally qualified candidates, siblings of current Nativity students are given preference. Decisions are mailed in late February for kindergarten and May for those students in grades 1-8.
Parents are encouraged to attend one of the monthly scheduled tours of the campus and classrooms before applying to the school.
Kindergarten applications: Applications are accepted from September-January of the year preceding kindergarten entrance. (Applicants must be five years of age by September 1 of the year entering kindergarten.) A developmental screening, pre-school evaluation and parent interview are part of the admissions process.
Applications for grades 1-8: Applications are accepted throughout the year. An interview, visitation, prior school records and placements tests are required.
